Daniel Patterson and Roy Choi rocked the food world last week with the announcement of Loco'l, their new environmentally-conscious take on fast food that will serve healthy fare at prices that are competitive with the likes of McDonald's. While the duo chose the Tenderloin as their first port of call for Loco'l, the EBX spoke to Choi and found out an Oakland location will be hot on its heels. In fact, Choi had originally wanted to debut the chain in Oakland, but he and Patterson decided they'd get more funding and attention starting in SF. With that said, Oakland will almost certainly be the home of Loco'l #2, and Choi believes it will open shortly after, and possibly even concurrently with, the Tenderloin outpost. (Neither have announced specific locations yet.) They also have an eye on other Bay Area spots where fast food is the only dining option, including Pleasanton, which Choi says "has some of the worst food on Earth."
