BREAKING: Rodents, Health Dept. Shut Down Luisa's
Thursday, December 13, 2007

On Monday morning, The Shutter brought news that Luisa's—flagship of the notorious Ms. Luisa Hanson—closed suddenly last Friday night. On-site investigations revealed that the folks down on Union Street chalked up the blame to "planned renovations."

Well, the Department of Public Health updates its inspection reports on a weekly basis, and we now have confirmation that the closure at Luisa's stems from a failed health inspection last Friday. The score from the "routine" spot inspection? A precious and flunking 64. The violations? The juicy, juicy details follow:

The following is taken from the Department of Public Health report:

High Risk: Rodents/Roaches/Flies/Other Animals (Rodents - Immediate Risk)

High Risk: Food in Poor Condition; unsafe/adulterated (Any food is adulterated if it bears or contains any poisonous or deleterious substance that may render it impure or injurious to health.)

Moderate Risk: Food Contact surfaces not cleaned/sanitized

Low Risk: Improper Food Storage/Improper Container ID

Low Risk: Unapproved/Disrepair Equipment/Utensils

Low Risk: Improper or Defective plumbing/No backflow devices/Improper connections

Low Risk: Floors, Walls, Ceilings Improperly constructed, in disrepair, not clean
bullet

Low Risk: Closure/Permit Suspension

Karma, thou art a bitch.
