THE MARINA—The feel-good story that swept our fair city today is the discovery of two Sierra skiers who were missing for two days, and as a sharp-eyed local points out, one of the frost-bitten pair is a member of the restaurant community: "[Christopher] Gerwig is a sous chef at A16 restaurant in the Marina district of San Francisco, a sister said. He is a native of Elgin, Ill., and a former resident of Big Sky, Mont., where he worked in restaurants and skied for seven years before moving to San Francisco to attend cooking school in 2005." There's a health care joke in here somewhere. [Chron]
THE MISSION—A tipster brings word of what may be some interesting developments at Gestalt Haus: "i saw a notice for change of ownership sign (liquor license?) over the weekend. i think it occurs soon (feb). not sure if that means any change for the place." Anyone? UPDATE 2/5: One of the owners bought out the others, hence the change in ownership sign; no changes are expected. [EaterWire Inbox]
FERRY BUILDING—The rumors are true, and SFist has it that along with Mayor PlumpJack, none other than one Bill Clinton will be at the Ferry Building tonight (right now), either speaking at the Hillary rally and/or looking for a place to buy Obama candy. [SFist]
