JACKSON SQUARE—Everyone's still ultramum on the happenings/ non-happenings at Myth, so it's likely any deal has yet to be finalized. Nonetheless, it's pretty safe to assume that the sale to Carl Pascarella's "Pacific Avenue Restaurants Investors" hasn't fallen through yet, as just this week, the group added a request for a caterer's permit to its still-pending liquor license. Last we heard from the BauerBlog, former Myth owner Tom Duffy said escrow could close by "early February," so things should be coming to a head soon enough. [EaterWire, previously]

THE INTERWEBS—If ever there a new service made for the responsible-eating masses of the Bay Area, it's a new service that allows anyone to check the endangered status of a certain fish: "You can text Blue Ocean's Fishphone at 30644 with the message FISH and the name of the fish in question. Immediately you'll get a text back with an assessment and, when appropriate, a more environmentally sound alternative." [Bitten]

DANVILLE—Apparently, Danville has captured the attention of both San Francisco and East Bay restaurateurs. Four new restaurants will be housed in the new Rose Garden center, including a branch of Amici's. Another local going eastward is Chow, expected to arrive in June: "About the decision to come to Danville, Chow owner Tony Gulisano says, 'People in the suburbs are essentially the same as in the city.' For Gulisano, Danville fits the bill of a sophisticated area he can connect with." Danville? Sophisticated? You say that, Tony, until you see the cows roaming the streets. [CC Times]

BAY AREA—Sound the alarms: just in time for the Valentine's Day onslaught, San Francisco-based See's Candies has been forced to recall chocolate: "See's Inc. announced today it is recalling 16-ounce bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips because they could affect people with severe allergies or a sensitivity to milk ... Anyone who consumes the product and has an allergy or sensitivity to milk risks serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. There has been one report of an allergic reaction from the consumption of the product, according to See's." [SJMN]
