First Look: Hard Knox Cafe Clones Itself on Clement

For every high-profile opening, there are at least few smaller, PR-less operations that have a bigger impact in day-to-day neighborhood life, and for many, the latter type is often more hotly anticipated. Firmly entrenched in this category—and getting very close (1-2 weeks) to opening—is the Outer Richmond's Hard Knox Cafe, the first offshoot of the popular Dogpatch soul food joint, and as Lady Hopstress noted, it's pretty hard not to like soul food by Vietnamese Texans. The look of the Hard Knox 2.0—right off the corner of Clement and 26th—is basically the same vintage-industrial look as the original. And media types, let's all keep the Annie references to a minimum during the rounds of opening buzz, yes?
