Yogen Fruz, the Canadian-born, German-sounding, self-proclaimed "world leader in the frozen dessert category" will be opening the first of 30 American location this weekend in Three Embarcadero Center. A sliver of first-day sales go to charity, but in what might be an ominous, developing trend—cf. SoGreen's free mugs last week—Yogen Fruz will be handing out free t-shirts with purchases of $10 or more. Be afraid; the swirly wars cometh. [BW]
