Burma Superstar is, without a doubt, one of the most popular restaurants in San Francisco, but its new Alameda offshoot might be doneski already, because well, it's in Alameda: "Despite having been open for six months, owner Desmond Htunlin said he has no plans to secure a more permanent [sign], since he soon may close. The reason? 'Alameda is not the best place to do business ... It's not a destination spot for anybody. People don't come to Alameda for a visit.'" Oakland is a possible next destination for Burma Superstar. [SJMN]
