SOMA—After going on a quick little hiatus, Town's End is hoping to be back up and running by tomorrow evening. They shuttered temporarily to renovate the floors, and to take an little early summer vacation we suppose. [EaterWire]
NOE VALLEY—A Noe Valley denizen tipped us off that the paper and plywood is down at the new 24th Street location of Toast Eatery. The windows have been washed, the finishing touches are being put on, and soft openings are just about ready to commence. The official grand opening—for now—is tentatively set for the 26th, which means that if the restaurant gods cooperate, the second location of Toast is a week out. [EaterWire]
OAKLAND—Currently slated for a September opening in downtown Oakland (578 14th Street) is Kaffir, which is billing itself as "a casual, quick-service restaurant that will offer South East Asian Street Food with a California twist." Along with the usual free-range/sustainable meats and fish, Kaffir will have a full menu of appetizers and noodles. [EaterWire]
