Chill to Change Concepts, Become Urban Picnic

2009_11_urbanpicnic.jpgTo file under FiDi Lunch Alert: Next week, Kearny Street's year-old Chill will cut the cord on the whole dessert cafe concept and reopen as a more lunch-centric eatery with some help from a well-known three-star chef. On this upcoming Tuesday, Urban Picnic will roll out a new menu of "ethnically inspired" salads and sandwiches created by none other than Poleng Lounge's Tim Luym (a full sample menu is already up on the Urban Picnic website). Though there will still be options like froyo and gelato available, given these wintry days of gourmet sandwich mania, it seems like owner Trang Nguyen basically opted to take the office worker lunch route rather than the frozen goods one.
