Back in July, news broke that a new Southern BBQ restaurant called Southpaw would be coming to a lesser developed stretch of Mission St. After quite the lively friends and family test drive last night, that restaurant opens to the public tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
With a micro-brewery on site, 12 beers on tap, and a culinary cocktail program coming at you from ex-25 Lusk barman Edward Calhoun, Southpaw will serve a menu centered around smoked ribs, smoked pork shoulder, beef brisket and fried seafood with your choice from a bevy of sides. The kitchen stays open until 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and the restaurant will be closed on Tuesdays. Look for lunch, brunch and a release party for the first beer brewed on site to happen before year's end. PDF menus should go live on the website in the next week.
