Can you say that five times fast? Peter Yen and chef Ty Mahler are getting close to unleashing the second Sushirrito to the masses, and the question is: are the masses ready? In case you haven't witnessed the crazy lunchtime lines at their existing location on New Montgomery, Sushirrito is a quick-service vendor of burrito-size hand-held sushi rolls—a whimsically strange creation that Kauffman once called "a fine lunch," and 7x7's Sara Deseran stamped as "kind of genius." See shots of the beast, here and here. Mahler says the second branch is coming very soon to the former Yoppi yogurt at 475 Sansome (and Clay) right by the TransAmerica building. Permits pending, they might even open doors as soon as June 18th.
