The backstory and renderings of Pacifica's brand new Surf Spot were shared earlier, and now that the joint officially unfurls to the public today, it's time to take a walk around inside. As you can gather, there is lots of reclaimed wood in use, and the overall feel is appropriate for a surf-themed restaurant: casual. There are also several menus to share. Small plates represent epic surf spots across the world: fish tacos from Troncones, Mexico; sweet-spicy chicken wings from Nha Trang, Vietnam, and about eight others. The lunch and dinner menus are a little more main stream and family-friendly.
Think build-your-own grilled cheese, build-your-own pasta, and several pizzas available with gluten-free crust. Cocktails fall into the "traditional" (Aviation, Sazerac, Moscow Mule) and "non-traditional" (cherry mojito, "porcini" with bacon-infused bourbon) realms. Bottled beers span Bud Light to Allagash White, and there are six tapped kegs such as the rare Devil's Canyon Full Boar Scotch Ale and the less-rare Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Here also is the brunch menu, which leads with chilaquiles. Now do take a moment to peruse all of the above, remember there are fire pits and seating outside, and consider the fact that this new Surf Spot and last year's addition of Moonraker mean there is now more to talk about on Pacifica's coastal dining scene than that super fancy Taco Bell.
