Eater operatives just got off the phone with chef-owner Sante Salvoni who confirms he'll be cooking his menu of Southeast Asian fare for the public for the first time tonight, starting at around 6 p.m. The nitty gritty about the restaurant's decor, owners and menu were shared in this post, back in August. Salvoni says the menu will be changing daily, and tonight's offerings include Thai-style whole striped bass wrapped in banana leaf ($25), Duroc pork belly rice bowl, chicken feet, curried mussels with rau ram, a silken tofu and tomato soup, small Vietnamese sausage lettuce wraps, a vegetarian tofu soup with fresh rice noodles, and more. Most items will be priced below $15.
Hours shall be 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner Monday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Check out Tablehopper for a sneak peek of the interior. And for those of you who were banking on an opening party on Sunday, it's been put off. Other early reflections and intel on Mau are most welcome in the tip jar.
