Chef David Barzelay's Lazy Bear Supperclub is graduating from pop-up to permanent space with a future restaurant called Anagram. It's a term he likes; Lazy Bear is an anagram of Barzelay's last name. He's keeping location details confidential for the moment as he attempts to raise the last of the money needed to get the project afloat; frequent Lazy Bear patrons are among those who have already donated. A limited number of shares are available for $25,000 (which will soon go up to $30,000). Prospective investors can email david@lazybearsf.com and ask to see the business plan.
Barzelay will say that Anagram will have food that's similar to what he's served at Lazy Bear, "but with a wider range of refinement and pure deliciousness." He'll also seek to have a full bar. One difference from Lazy Bear is that food will be à la carte. Once open, here's hoping Lazy Bear won't see a repeat visit from con artists.
