Señor Bauer is on a Mexican kick lately: after a visit to Padrecito a couple of weeks back, the subject of his big Sunday review is Nido. Though the review is a little late (the restaurant opened back in December), the praise is high: Nido is "not your typical Bay Area Mexican," with "soulful, comforting" fare like a grilled pork chop that's "one of the best [he's] ever eaten," killer rainbow trout, and a "delicious" chicken enchilada. Service is a little weak, but with the addition of Nopalito opening chef Jose Ramos to Silvia McCollow's kitchen, Nido nails 2.5 stars, and 3 for food. [Chron]
