Fall Tracking: Horizon Sheds Liquor License Suspension, Readies for November Opening

Horizon: kindly note the complete absence of suspended license posters.

Vigilant readers will remember the curiously ominous signage at unopened Horizon several weeks ago. As we pointed out, the "Notice of Suspension" with regards to the liquor license had nothing to do with the crew setting up shop in the space at 498 Broadway. The good news is that the suspension has finally been lifted, just in time for Horizon's debut this Saturday "early November" when the truffle-foie gras-Kobe beef burgers will be flowing out of Executive Chef Ivan Tam's kitchen. It's always a boon when your restaurant-slash-lounge can serve alcohol.

**UPDATE 3PM—It seems that there are still some issues with the liquor licenses. From the Horizon people: "Apparently, it wasn't enough for the suspension to lift. The woman who was served the suspension needed to formally ask the ABC to give the license back to her. She has now done so, but the process takes up to two weeks. They are doing their best to hurry things along, but 11/1 is the earliest date. " So: not open Saturday.
