EaterWire Burger Edition: Burger Joint Pushed Back, Horizon Liquor License Mystery Solved

Summer, Christmas, Whatever.

SOUTH BEACH—According to a source on the construction team, the debut of the new Burger Joint, originally slated for Summer 2007, has now been pushed back to Christmas. This Burger Joint location, the fourth in the chain, will be at 242 King Street between Third and Fourth. Someday. (Thanks to a tipster for the info.) [EaterWire Inbox]

BROADWAY STRIP—If you've passed by 498 Broadway lately, you may have noticed the big liquor license suspension notice plastered on the front window next to the Green Tortoise. Turns out it has nothing to do with Horizon, the comfort food/custom burger eatery by Ola Fendert due in late October. The suspension stems from the previous tenant, who was cited for serving alcohol after-hours on the last day of business. Consider it a celebration gone awry that should be healed by the time Horizon opens in the coming weeks. [EaterWire Inbox]
