The autumnal months are a busy time for The Dish, your source for the latest unveilings around town. Notice a restaurant that recently debuted? The Dish Hotline eagerly awaits your reports.
1) Blue Barn Gourmet: Inspections were passed with flying colors and Blue Barn will open for the first time tonight at 5pm. Among the items on the cafe menu are grilled panini, chef's specialty
sandwiches "sandos" and gourmet salads, available custom or pre-designed. We're also told there's some sidewalk seating forthcoming. Yelpers, no one has achieved "first to review" status on BBG yet. You're slacking. 2105 Chestnut Street, at Steiner, The Marina; (415) 441-3232 [Eater Staff]
2) Horizon: As mentioned yesterday morning, Horizon finally lifts off tonight. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about Horizon. First and foremost, one could conceivably purchase a $47 lobster-foie gras-truffle Kobe beef burger from Chef Ivan Tam (ere of Pres a Vi). That, friends, is fun. Second, the Broadway/North Beach area finally has a late-night eats destination not called Golden Boy or Centerfolds. Finally, if Ola Fendert (Oola) is involved (he is), braised ribs are always a good idea. Trust us. 498 Broadway, at Kearny, North Beach, (415) 576-1118, website [Eater Staff]
