Mina To Tackle Millennium Tower

Michael Mina is certainly keeping busy. Already just this week, he revealed that he will run the new Clock Bar in the Westin St. Francis, flirted with the possibility of opening a brasserie and bakery in that same hotel, and announced the February debut of his steakhouse (in Scottsdale of all places).

And now, the big news: he'll be opening a new restaurant/wine bar called RN74 in the under-construction Millennium Tower:

While RN74 won't open until spring 2009 at the earliest, Mina and [wine director Rajat] Parr have already mapped out their concept, although they'll continue to fine-tune. The 4,700-square-foot bar and dining room will be on the ground floor of the 60-story luxury condominium complex, which is also slated to open in 2009. They've hired Avroko, the New York firm that designed popular restaurants like Quality Meats and Odea Lounge in that city.
The cuisine will be modern French-American and Mina has stressed that he wants the place to be "accessible - high energy." The moniker "RN74" is taken from the French highway that runs through Burgundy, but for some reason, it really just reminds us of an AK47. Putting numbers in restaurant names: so hot right now.
