On the Market: (Haunted) Moss Beach Distillery

Just south of San Francisco comes news that the Moss Beach Distillery is currently on the market for a cool $6.5 million. The Moss Beach Distillery, for those unaware, is a historic restaurant about 30 minutes south of town, dating back to the '20s. It's perched right on the Pacific and home to some of the best views on the entire coast.

The property description on the listing describes the Moss Beach Distillery as such: "World Famous Historical Restaurant opened in the 1920's....Seismic retrofit and upgrades in 1995. Over 70 parking spaces off street on lots owned by MBD. All seats have ocean view! Multi-level with Handicap access. Current owner since 1990. Own one of California's most important restaurants!"

What is not mentioned in the ad is that there's the small matter of a certain ghost called "The Blue Lady" reputed to linger in and around the place. Spectacular ocean views, a half hour removed from the city and a ghost. If you ask us, that sounds like the perfect recipe for the first California experiment south of Yountville by one Thomas Keller. Who's with us?
