EaterWire: A Date For Papa (Maybe) and MORE!

MINT PLAZA—Though just about everyone down on Jessie Street remains mum on a possible opening date for Chez Papa, a Craigslist ad for the Mint Plaza apartments above touts a debut for "the famed French bistro" sometime this month. A possible sign that Jocelyn Bulow might ring in the new year with a shiny new restaurant? Only December will tell. And yes, going forward, all future references to Chez Papa will be preceded by "the famed French bistro." [Craigslist, via Curbed SF]

UNION SQUARE—Who needs summer Fridays when you have Christmas Fridays? Surely looking to cash in on the holiday tourist downtown, trendy French-Vietnamese restaurant/lounge Le Colonial has announced its annual winter Fridays lunch service has commenced. For the next three weeks leading up the big holiday weekend, Le Colonial will be offering selections off from menu from 11:30 to 2pm. It's the perfect setting for visiting Iowans. [EaterWire Inbox]
