Since the sheriff's office was forced to evict Powell's Place back in November, things have been relatively quiet over there (padlocks on the door will do that), but it now appears that a new tenant looms on the horizon. According to a sign gracing the front door at 1521 Eddy, Tribute Restaurant will be moving in, sans spell-check. The good news is that it looks to be another Southern/soul place, but the bad news is that it is unaffiliated with Powell's Place. As for the former tenant, according to Powell, they are currently looking at several new locations for the next incarnation of Powell's Place; he's hoping to bring it back in the next couple months or so.
