Michael Bauer has two stars for a still-growing and inconsistent Gigi in Lafayette, where onetime Chronicle Rising Star Jeffrey Amber has taken over the quaint, popular 48-seat space: "On all three visits, the servers were attentive, friendly and efficient, helping to give the place a personal feel that Amber is trying to achieve with his food.
