Union Square: The famous John's Grill—home of the Maltese Falcon, noted Dashiell Hammett haunt and all-around San Francisco classic—rings in its 100th anniversary this month (think about that one). To commemorate the occasion, owner John Konstin will be offering eight-cent drinks from 11:30am to 3:30pm on Friday November 14th. Only two eight-cent drinks per customer (though there are always normally-priced ones after that), but two stiff, old-school martinis for a few nickels should be more than enough to make that Friday afternoon at work a fairly memorable one.
