Teary Shutter Signage: Cafe Castro Promises Next Incarnation Will Have a "New Concept of Service"

The Castro: While Sumi rides off into the sunset, a reader tips us off that the doomed space across the street at 4230 18th is once again under wraps and deserves inclusion in our Cursed Spaces Map. The last inhabitant, Cafe Castro, opened less than a year ago and is now a certified flop, right down to its memorable menu rules: only well-behaved children are allowed, "quality takes time," and an $8 minimum, at a place called a cafe. Fortunately, they've left a hiatus note, promising a new management team, a new menu and best of all, a new concept of service. Has Cafe Castro gone all penitent on us?
