AWARDS— The polls for 7x7's annual Eat + Drink Awards are officially up and running. The deadline for ballot submission is December 15, and the winners are revealed in the February '09 issue. All the familiar categories are there (Best Newcomer, Best French et al.), in addition to some less conventional ones (Best Bathrooms). Fun with democracy! [EaterWire]

THE MISSION—All kinds of festivities are going down at Elixir over the next few weeks. First, owner H. Joseph Ehrmann celebrates his fifth anniversary of owning the joint on November 22nd with a Celebrity Chef BBQ featuring Justin Deering (Conduit) and Scott Youkilis (Maverick). Then, there will be a "Prohibition era-themed party" with a 1933 cocktail menu. Rounding out the events is a 150th anniversary party that will be a Victorian Era-themed party and will cost $100. Everyone got that? There will be a quiz. More details at the Elixir site. [EaterWire]
