Napa Dispatch: Tracking Frank Gehry's Hall Winery Project

St. Helena: The high-profile Frank Gehry project at the Hall Winery broke ground back in summer '07, but there's been precious little buzz about the goings-on since then, so we thought an update was in order. Hall just finished the first phase of the winery project in St. Helena in time for the 2008 harvest. It's a state-of-the-art winemaking facility that, after the second phase in mid to late '09, will be completely fed by gravity-flow. But getting back to the big-name part of the project, the Visitor’s Center being designed by Gehry is now slated for completion in 2011, but NB, visitors/architecture freaks can take hard hat tours of the site and the model gallery. Wonders of technology bonus: there's a GehryCam installed so you can actually track the construction progress online.
