EaterWire: More on Mystique, Jillian's Brings Back Bull

Everyone enjoy the long weekend, travel safely and let the vino flow. We'll see you back here on Monday for your full slate of regularly-scheduled programming. Until then, the tip jar is open. A happy Thanksgiving to all.

2008_11_mystique.jpgTHE CASTRO—A few more details on plywood vet Cafe Mystique, due soon: "The restaurant is the joint effort of Alan Klein and Sam Khalili, who are also co-owners of Radiance Jewelers. The two previously partnered on a Mediterranean restaurant that they sold seven years ago ... The North African cuisine is unique in the neighborhood, and the restaurant itself will have an emphasis on locally-sourced, organic, and fair-trade ingredients offered at affordable prices." [BAR]

SOMA—Lordy, after last year's appearance, look what's back for an encore performance tonight: "Jillian’s at Metreon invites you to test your rodeo skills this Thanksgiving eve. The popular SOMA sports bar is bringing back the legendary mechanical bull for all you urban cowboys and cowgirls." [City Dish]

FOOD NETWORK—Those of you love Rachael Ray's raspy voice will be disappointed to hear that she has to have vocal cord surgery. She's allegedly going under the knife to "to get rid of a benign lump in her throat." New episodes featuring Ray-Ray will be off the air until January, when her voice comes back. [EMD]

RUSSIAN HILL—The holidays are just getting started, and the first of many December Christmas specials has trickled into the inbox. Not only will La Folie be open on Sundays throughout the month of December, but Roland Passot will put together a Christmas Eve 5-course dinner at $105 per person. [EaterWire]
