EaterWire: FerguStock '08, Dine About Town Announced

NEW YORK—Just in case our Amuse Cochon recap didn't fulfill your pig head quota for the day, do check out Eater NY's three-part series on British superchef Fergus Henderson's now-annual dinner at the Spotted Pig. Take a look behind the scenes at The Prep, The Kitchen and The Dinner itself. [~ENY~]

SAN FRANCISCO—Who's ready for the 2009 Dine About Town and more tiny prix fixe menus that look like a bargain, but when you stop and think about it, aren't really a bargain in most cases? The restaurant list isn't out yet, but the dates are: January 15-31 and June 1-15. Lunches are $21.95 and dinners for $34.95. Now that so many restaurants are offering "recession" prix fixe menus, perhaps $35 isn't such a unique proposition? [EaterWire]

MARINDavid Haydon started San Rafael's Il Davide a dozen years ago, and now he's back after a three-year hiatus following a divorce: "I expanded my knowledge, studied Pan Asian cooking, researched innovative Italian cuisine and fusion style," Haydon says. He was also the general manager at the now-defunct Ora in Mill Valley for a while." So Pan Asian Italian is coming? [MIJ]

PACIFIC HEIGHTS—More reasons to like the Bacchus Group (Spruce, Pizza Antica, Village Pub): "Bacchus Management Group has geeked out on coffee, so much so that they've launched ROAST Coffee Co. with Alex Roberts, former roast master at San Rafael's Equator Estate Coffees & Teas. The mostly single-origin coffees are currently ground-to-order, brewed and served with the utmost reverence to the bean at the group's restaurants." [F&W]
