The Dish: Crave Sneaks Onto Polk, Bearing Ritual Coffee

New, 1 comment

Russian Hill: Sneaking in earlier than expected is Street spinoff and plywood vet Crave. Even though owners John Lamkin and Lynn Ramsey are still waiting for a few more amenities, they decided to open this week. For now, Crave is open from 7am to 7pm and should fill a niche on Polk. The quick service menu is simple; divided into sandwiches and salads, everything is between $7 and $9, with the reuben and the slow-smoked Niman pork sandwiches getting long looks. However, their biggest selling point is Ritual Roasters coffee from the fancy La Marzocco machine. Especially with Cafe Lambretta gone, it's a crucial caffeine improvement over Starbucks. 2164 Polk Street, at Vallejo [EaterWire]
