EaterWire: E&O Preview Dinners, Ayers Restaurant Nears

UNION SQUARE—New exec chef Arnold Eric Wong won't roll out his menu at the flagship Sutter Street location E&O Trading Company until 2009, but the Larkspur branch will host a series of "sneak peek dinners" on December 3-6. He'll be trying out a handful of new menu items that might appear on the final Wong menus next year. Think of it as a test run that you can attend. [EaterWire, previously]

PALO ALTO—Onetime Google kitchen honcho Charlie Ayers is approaching a debut for his restaurant: "Ayers is set to open his first restaurant, Calafia Cafe and Market A Go-Go in Palo Alto’s Town & Country Village. Although anticipated to open this month, due to construction delays, it will most likely open in January now." [FoodGal]

WESTERN ADDITION—Now oddly open for brunch service is the city's only dessert lounge, Candybar. SFoodie has a rundown of the meal, which will reportedly change weekly. [SFW]

MARIN—After years of delay, Marin County has finally decided to make restaurant inspections available online: "Marin County Environmental Health Services rolled out the new program this week, noting those who visit will find a summary of the results of county health inspections ... Smith said that a restaurant 'award of excellence' will be added to the site, although there will be no 'dirty dozen' listing." [MIJ]
