2008_12_aw.jpgNow that her kitchen cabinet idea/pun has hit the national media, Alice Waters shares more wisdom in a Q&A with the Times. On why the White House needs her help: "[Americans] wanted to get away from the cultures of Europe or wherever they came from. We stirred up that melting pot pretty quickly. Then fast food came in and took over." On the White House chef: "It's not a job I could do, but I could certainly help to find someone or evaluate who is there." Bless the cause, but perhaps partner-in-crime Danny Meyer is the one who should be doing these interviews. [NYT, previously]
