New, 2 comments

All openings, big and small, get served up on a regular basis by The Dish. Know of a new restaurant or bar that we've missed? Pass along your sightings.

1) Downtown: Making its debut this week and pictured above is Banyan 14 Street Food, a quick-service restaurant that bills itself as "South East Asian Street Food with a California twist." For now, it's only open for lunch on weekdays and concentrates on foods of the Thai and Vietnamese ilk (salads, noodles, rice bowls, etc). It's by a pair of RNM veterans and like a good Bay Area restaurant, has that whole sustainable-organic thing going on too. 578 14th Street, between Clay and Jefferson, Oakland; (510) 251-2753; website [EaterWire]

2) Glenview: Both UrbanDaddy and the Chron have recently highlighted the opening of Marzano in Oakland. It's a Neopolitan-style pizzeria by the folks behind Garibaldis (John Hurley, Justin Hafen and Scott Sasaki), and Robert Holt of Cetrella is in the kitchen. Menus are online, and it's open for dinner nightly and brunch on weekends. 4214 Park Boulevard, near Wellington, Oakland; (510) 531-4500; website [UD/Chron]
