1) The Castro: We're sad to report that after their well-chronicled struggles in this economy, Nathan and Brett Niebergall are finally planning on closing their Market Street restaurant, Frisee, sometime this week. The silver lining is that the brothers are considering potential new ventures in the new year. [EaterWire]
2) Western Addition: In the land that may or may not be Nopa, Kathmandu Cafe has shuttered. One Yelper claims that the owner was "tired of running the restaurant and wanted to return home where the majority of his family lives." In its place will be Saffron Grill, an Indian restaurant with housemade tandoori and the like. According to the new owner, he is already planning on (re)opening the space (Fulton/Divis) in its new guise on Thursday. [EaterWire]
3) Polk Gulch: A tipster sends word that Tajine has closed up shop too, and a call confirms. The folks there say that there's still a possibility that they might open a new location sometime in the future, but nothing right away. [EaterWire]
