EaterWire: No Corkage at DeLucchi and Much More!

NORTH BEACH—To be sure, one of the better places in the Restaurant Wasteland Called North Beach is Caffe DeLucchi, and now the family-run cafe has instituted a corkage special. From Slow Food Taste Life: "Caffe DeLucchi ... has a great winter special going on now whereby on each Tuesday and Wednesday, you can bring in a bottle of wine and the corkage fee is waived." [SFTL]

THE HAIGHT—Haight Street's little cocktail star is going national, as Cutlets has it that Daniel Hyatt and Alembic will be participating in a new bartender exchange program. Sometime in March, Alembic will swap barkeeps with Manhattan's Death & Co. with the hope of widening mixology horizons. Alembic, if you can make it in New York... [Cutlets]

IHOPLAND—Via SFist comes something to file under things that qualify as the exact opposite of a romantic Valentine's Day dinner: "In celebration of National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., IHOP, one of America's favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, will give away one free short stack of its signature buttermilk pancakes to all guests."
