Toy Story

Legendary San Francisco restaurateur Tommy Toy died yesterday, capping a life that read like a fairy tale: "His wife, Veronica Toy, will keep running his restaurant, Tommy Toy's Cuisine Chinoise ... Toy, born in China, moved to San Francisco in his teens and worked first as a dishwasher in a Chinatown restaurant. Later he was a busboy at the Imperial Palace, which he later managed and then owned. He opened Tommy Toy's in 1985 with Yu and Joe Yuey. The restaurant has been a frequent haunt over the years for many local power brokers in business and politics." [SF Biz Times]
