The Shutter: Bayside Retires After Super Bowl Bash

In a semi-surprising turn of events, popular Cow Hollow watering hole Bayside Sports Bar and Grill shuttered this week. Its last day of business was Super Bowl Sunday, and the only reason for the closure we've been able to unearth is that the lease ran out (quite possibly a euphemism for "the rent got raised through the roof"). Bayside is currently auctioning off the booze, furniture and various other amenities, so you can probably cross off the possibility of a relocation, meaning that a town already low on sports bars loses one more. As for the next tenant of 1787 Union, nothing is set and the space will probably be gutted, though one rumored possibility is mini-chain Compadres.
