Sure, the new King Street location of Burger Joint closed four days after its opening, but the good news is that the next location of the local mini-chain has triumphed over those pesky, pesky artists who previously didn't want their public art "destroyed": "A Burlingame artist has reached a settlement with a downtown property owner that allows her mural to be painted over to make room for a burger restaurant's logos and signs ... there was no way to save the 5-year-old mural, which depicts a New Orleans street scene." Funny what four figures worth of dollar bills will do to an artist, no? [SMDN]
