THE MISSION—Last week's Scoop shed some light on the nature of the closure at the Last Supper Club—it's morphing into a bar/pizzeria called Beretta—and now it appears that owner/executive chef Ruggero Gadaldi (Pesce, Antica Trattoria) and co. have hammered down a return date. According to sources there, Beretta is hoping to open/reopen on March 28th. The place will become more late-night friendly, open daily until midnight. Along with some communal dining goodness, Thad Vogler (Bourbon & Branch, Slanted Door) is signed on as beverage director and Delfina's Jeff Meisel is the wine consultant. [EaterWire]
SANTA ROSA—Even though it remains extremely behind schedule, Carlos Santana's Santa Rosa restaurant, Maria Maria, is still on the way ... almost assuredly: "The current target is fall, after sister establishments open doors in Tempe, Ariz., and Mill Valley, said Andriana Majarian, spokeswoman for Walnut Creek restaurant developer Dudum Sports & Entertainment. 'It's kind of a moving date, but we are looking at the October-November time frame ... There were some optimistic dates early on.'" [Press Democrat]
