A Castro nightspot—and neighborhood rabble-rouser, apparently—is the subject of a new debate that sees the owners of The Cafe (which is a club, not a cafe) wanting to tack on a quick-service cafe to the club The Cafe (got that?): "On March 20, the club will go before the San Francisco Planning Commission in an effort to expand the number of nights it's allowed to have entertainment such as dancing and karaoke from four to seven a week. The bar's owners also want to construct a three-story building in the back that will include a small take-out restaurant (which the general manager insists will not be fast food) ... Neighbors have previously protested the club's plans, saying the Cafe's presence has been disruptive, and the business shouldn't be allowed to expand." [BAR]
