Over the weekend, a notice of application for a place of entertainment went up on the cursed space on the corner of Van Ness and Pacific. Since Hue L'amour shuttered back in late summer, 2080 Van Ness—the big space that has housed upwards of ten restaurants, running the gamut from piano room to Cuban eatery to seafood grill to its most recent Vietnamese incarnation—has remained quiet, but now it appears to be turning into Heights. The liquor license, transferred with the August sale, has remained active during the hibernation, so this might be one to watch, or at least one to watch succumb to the curse.
