THE MISSION—With Beretta's opening looming next week (last we checked) in the onetime Last Supper Club space, boozers everywhere are wetting their pants over the superstar bartenders that continue to sign onto the "pizzeria and drinking space." From Alcademics: "Thad Vogler (Slanted Door, Jardiniere, Bourbon & Branch) is leading the bar program, and some of the people taking shifts there will be Jon Santer (Bruno's, Range, Tres Agaves, B&B), Todd Smith (Cortez, B&B), Ryan Fitzgerald (Tres Agaves, B&B, Brick), and Eric Johnson (Eastside West, B&B). Vogler says it's coincidence that they were all looking to pick up a shift or two, but I'm already nicknaming the venue the Valencia Street All-Star Bar." [Alcademics]
BONUS MISSION—Maybe the best news of the day has the guys at Coffee Bar finally figuring out that Sundays are good coffee days: "Due to popular demand Coffee Bar will now be opening on Sundays, beginning this Sunday March 30th, from 7 am to 7 pm. To help entice you to get out of bed and join us, we would like to offer a $6 Blood Orange Mimosa special made with Sorelle Bronca Prosecco." [EaterWire Inbox]
BERKELEY—Even the mayor will be showing up for the grand groundbreaking ceremony of the new location of Berkeley's favorite all-ages, non-smoking, alcohol-free performance venue: "Freight & Salvage has completed its move to 2020 Addison, and will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony next Tuesday, April 1. Show up at 10:30 a.m. for a morning of food, drink, music, and an appearance by Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates." [All Shook Down]
