As we all know, an October fire shelved 1930's institution Original Joe's, much to the chagrin of the old-school steak n' potatoes crowd. At the time, initial estimates had Joe's being down "at least a week," though those forecasts were quickly upgraded to several months. Well, it's now been six months, and according to last week's Scoop, the Duggans are still waiting on the insurance claim to begin work. A look inside the place (see gallery above) reveals that the majority of the damage—which has gone largely untouched—is centered in the counter and kitchen areas. The ceiling also looks to be doneski, but the good news is that the leather booths appear to be intact. Small victories?
