PierWatch: Work Begins on Acurio's La Mar Cebicheria

New, 4 comments

Last week, work finally started at Pier 1.5, future home to South American celebrity chef Gaston Acurio's first restaurant on U.S. soil, La Mar Cebicheria Peruana. We posted some photos of the pretty lil' patio way back in October, so we thought it high time for a return visit. The space is in need of a complete build-out, making a summer debut an early possibility. La Mar is part of The Piers project, which involved Bloomberg inking the most expensive lease in six years last summer. Also on tap are two other restaurants in the nearby spaces, though both anonymous restaurants—rumored to be a bistro and a Californian eatery—are still currently in various stages of lease negotiations. In the meantime, take a stroll around La Mar via the attractive and convenient photo gallery, would you?
