Given last week's temporary Starbucks-blackout, Jon Carrol offers more suggestions for upping the "friendliness quotient" at everyone's favorite coffee giant. In addition to brilliant proposals like beds and the solitude corner, he thinks cats should roam free too: "I have suggested this before, in the context of movie theaters, but I think every Starbucks should have a rent-a-cat booth. Starbucks acquires a stable of older lap cats, the kind that stay put on any warm human, and it lends them out to paying customers. What could be more friendly than a cat? You pet, you sip, you find inspiration." [Chron]
