Particularly considering the Bay is somewhat lacking in the shabu shabu department, it's encouraging to see both the CC Times and the Chronicle embrace the movement. Nick Boer has a snazzy tres for Berkeley's Zabu Zabu, while Bar Bites uncovers Mums in Japantown, where "most diners share a common purpose: to consume mass quantities of meat with hot/cold sake or beer." Look out Japantown, if you keep this up, you might get a reputation for housing restaurants other than Benihana and Denny's. [CCT, Chron]
