The Bloggin' Bauer answers more fan mail, this time regarding his failure to acknowledge the four percent health care surcharges in his Sunday review of Epic: "Customers seem to be more accepting of the surcharges at places such as Delfina. People understand what the prices were and instead of raising them, adding a service charge simply points out what's going on. It's become a common practice for restaurants to add that to the menu. I would think that at some point in the near future, those will go away and the restaurants will simply reflect the increase in the cost of each item on the menu. In the case of Epic, people seemed less accepting. It's a new restaurant, one that pushes the price envelope anyway, so people are doubly sensitive to any added charges." [BauerBlog]
