Commuters and SoMa people may want to note that the daytime pastry/coffee kiosk adjacent to Elizabeth Falkner's Orson is very up and running, and surprise, the most famous pastry chef in town is putting out some decent fare: "The Orson Kiosk is now open five days a week, serving caffeine- and sugar- craving commuters. From 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, the Kiosk serves up coffee and espresso drinks and a menu of baked goods ... Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes are always available, with additional chef's choice flavors as the muse dictates ... the pastries are certainly a lot better than what you can get at Starbucks."
