The Glorious Evolution of Yelp

2008_04_yelp.jpgIn an effort to become more friendly to the businesses it glorifies/bashes, everyone's favorite local online cult, Yelp (maybe you know it?), has released a new set of tools that allows businesses to participate (kinda) in the online festivities in the following ways: "Message customers who have reviewed their business, see how many prospective customers viewed their business page, update business information instantly (i.e. hours of operation, categories), [and] receive new review email alerts." We're not quite sure that this new system allows businesses to "fight back" per se, since most of these are common sense moves, but hey, small victories? [TechCrunch]
