The Shutter: Pescheria Closes, Sails Off to North Beach

New, 1 comment

Your regular report of restaurant and bar closings around town arrives via The Shutter. Do feel free to share your sightings.

Saturday night was the finale for Joseph Manzare's (relatively) short-lived Noe Valley seafood outpost Pescheria, and if the above photo is any indication (it is), just about every single Noe Valley denizen who passed by the place on Sunday morning stopped to read the shutter signage and take a look inside at the quickly-closed restaurant. As mentioned last week, the building was sold, thus bringing about a sudden shutter. The Pescheria staff will transfer to Joseph Manzare's next project, Joey & Eddie's (currently a slowly-Italianizing Moose's). After Joey & Eddie's, Manzare—who is amassing quite the empire—plans to turn his focus to the sushi bar and ramen joints, followed by reopening Pescheria at 1600 Market in Hayes Valley. As for Noe Valley, another branch of Henry's Hunan is apparently in the works for 1708 Church.
